Harfti (حرفتي) is an Algerian platform connecting clients with skilled tradespeople (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and more). We at Team Belahcine take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.

By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1 Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data to operate the app:

a. Personal Information

• Name — to display your profile to the other party.
• Phone number — to enable contact between client and worker after a service is accepted; we verify it manually.
• Email address — for account creation and sign-in (via Google or email).
• ID card photo — for workers only, for identity verification and fraud prevention. Stored securely and never shown to other users.

b. Location

• We use precise location (GPS) to calculate the distance between client and worker and show nearby workers.
• You may decline location permission, but some features (such as distance calculation) will not work.

c. Photos

• Portfolio photos — uploaded by workers to showcase past work.
• Chat and request photos — to attach images describing the requested service.

d. Usage and Device Data

• Chat content — messages between client and worker, to enable communication and resolve disputes.
• Requests and reviews — service details and ratings you leave.
• Device identifiers and notification tokens — to send notifications (via Firebase Cloud Messaging).

2 How We Use Your Data

• Connect clients with suitable workers and display profiles.
• Enable chat and communication after a service is accepted.
• Verify worker identity to protect users from fraud.
• Send notifications about requests, offers, and messages.
• Calculate distances and show nearby workers.
• Handle disputes and appeals fairly.
• Improve the app and prevent abuse.

3 Who We Share Your Data With

We do not sell your data to anyone. We share it only in these cases:

• With other users: your name, photo, specialty, and rating are visible to the other party. Your phone number is revealed only after a service is accepted.
• Service providers: we use Google Firebase services (database, storage, authentication, notifications) to run the app. These services are governed by Google's privacy policy.
• Image hosting: some images may be hosted via a third-party service (ImgBB).
• Legal reasons: if required by law.

4 Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, strict server-side access rules, and storing sensitive data (such as phone number and ID card) in protected areas accessible only to the owner and authorized systems.

Despite our efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your data with the best available means.

5 Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within a reasonable period, except what we are required to keep for legal reasons or dispute resolution.

6 Your Rights

• Access: you can request a copy of your data.
• Correction: you can edit your information from the app settings.
• Deletion: you can request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.
